Allen's City of David in promotion race

Former Bukola Babes gaffer, Festus Allen, has turned amateur divsion one side, City of David United, into promotion candidates.

Allen joined COD after his exit from Premier League rookies, Bukola Babes, and has since brought some flair to the young club which is now close to a historic promotion to the Nigeria National League.

The Lagos based side with 28 points on the log look good to seal their ticket to the professional cadre if they can overcome visiting Ajiroba, on Sunday.

“Ajiroba has 30 points and all we need to secure our ticket to the professional class is a victory on match day. The 3-0 victory over Fountain and walk-over at Dynamos has boosted our position on the log.

“It’s a new experience. I'm confident that we can achieve the desired result on match day,” Allen said to SuperSport.com.

Founded in 2007, C.O.D. United is the soccer evangelism ministry of The Redeemed Christian Church of God City of David.

The ambitious club which has moved from amateur division three through one,recently established an international partnership with English Premier League side, Bolton Wanderers.
