Allen salutes gallant stars

3SC supremo, Festus Allen, has saluted his players for securing a point after their impressive road trip performance at Lobi Stars.

Allen's troops got a valuable point at Lobi which is one of the difficult terrain for visiting teams. It's the first time the famous Ibadan side, which is undergoing transformation under Allen will pick a road trip point after consecutive defeats at Niger Tornadoes, ABS and Wikki.

3SC took the lead courtesy of leading striker, Osaguona Ighodaro, who took his Nigeria Premier League tally to four on match day, but a powerful rocket by Gabriel Adikwu denied the visitors their first road trip victory.

"I'm proud of the lads. They gave their best and the entire squad was brilliant. We were close to getting an away win. This is the turning point for the team.

"The performance on Sunday is what we need to get to the next level. We're making progress," Allen told SuperSport.com.

Emmanuel Daniel, who got his first chance in goal ahead of experienced Dele Ajiboye, clearly justified his position in goal.

Allen expressed satisfaction that the team can now boast of several options.

3SC is placed 11th on the log with 13 points from 10 matches.
